Oat Bran ’n Ginger Waffles

Ingredients
2 large egg whites
1 cup Quaker® Oat Bran hot cereal, uncooked
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup fat free milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons dark molasses
Instructions
- Heat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions.
- In small bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form; set aside. In large bowl, combine oat bran, flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder, cloves and salt; mix well.
- Wisk together milk, oil and molasses until well blended. Add to dry ingredients, mixing just until moistened. Do not overmix -- there should be lumps.
- Fold egg whites into batter. Lift waffle iron lid; pour about 1 cups of batter onto surface of waffle iron grid. Close the lid; bake until steam no longer escapes from sides of the iron and waffles are deep golden brown.
- Serve with fruit or Aunt Jemima Lite or Butter Lite Syrup, if desired.
