Traditional Stuffing
Yields ABOUT 9 CUPS servings
Ingredients
2 cups sliced celery
1 cup chopped onion
1-1/2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
1 teaspoon sage
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
8 cups fresh bread cubes
2 cups QUAKER Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
1 cup chopped apple
1 cup dried cranberries
1/4 chopped parsley
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
One 10-3/4-ounce can single strength chicken broth
Instructions
- Cook celery, onion, poultry seasoning, sage, black pepper, and salt in oil over medium-low heat 4 to 5 minutes or until tender. Remove from heat.
- Combine bread cubes, oats, apple, dried cranberries, parsley, and walnuts mix well.
- Add onion mixture and chicken broth. Mix until bread is evenly coated.
- Stuff into the body and neck of turkey. Immediately after stuffing, place turkey in oven and begin roasting.
